Students today are digital learners. Our goal at Sugar Hill is to facilitate the perpetual advancement of technology usage and growth throughout our school. We are fortunate to have the support of our administration, our community and our local PTA.

Technology use throughout the building is flourishing! Interactive technology is one way to engage students. We currently have 40 Mimio boards and 10 Interwrite Active Pads for student/teacher use.

Did you know that we have approximately 200 desktop computers and 32 wireless laptops available for student use alone? Each classroom in the building and in the trailers have been equipped with document cameras, LCD projectors, DVD/CD players and sound systems? In addition, the media center has a variety of technology such as, digital cameras, video cameras, interactive tablets, and student response systems available for checkout to our staff.

Our video production studio provides 5th grade students an opportunity to experience planning and implementing a morning news show, utilizing video equipment such as cameras, sound board and video mixer.

Students at Sugar Hill use a variety of productivity software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Word to demonstrate their knowledge of the curriculum through technology integration.

Students are becoming discriminating users of online resources such as internet based encyclopedias, search engines and Web 2.0 tools. With the financial support of our PTA and our community, we are able to purchase annual site licenses for two educationally based programs; BrainPOP and Education City. In addition to the software and internet based tools previously mentioned, students have been recording podcasts of their writing, classroom news and literary experiences.

As a digital community we are preparing our students to be productive members of a global society in an evolving technological world.
